It’s Official! People love our classes! Shar, the Owner of Happy Hens Farm said “I attended the class on April 9, 2011, “MORE On Back Yard Chickens.” I have been raising chickens on and off for the past 45 years and currently have 70 hens, one rooster. I learned so much in the class! I definitely got my money’s worth and then some! Duane covered many aspects of the care of chickens whether one has a few, or a flock of many. I walked away with pages of notes that will help me in the days and years to come in taking care of my ‘girls’…and one rooster. Thank you!”

Bend’s 2nd Annual Backyard Farm Tour – August, 2011
The second annual Backyard Farm Tour was a huge hit, and featured new farms and a new farm-to-table event! Thanks to everyone who made it possible, including GoodLife Brewing Co., Deschutes Brewery, The Blacksmith Restaurant, Dump City Dumplings, The Brew Shop, Bend Distillery and Cascade Culinary Institute. Party goers also enjoyed music from Organic Music Farm and Big Pine and the Pitchtones. The event was a blast and raised awareness about growing food in Central Oregon. The event raised a good chunk of change for NeighborImpact’s food resource programs.
Backyard Bake Sale – April, 2011
Thanks to everyone for supporting our Backyard Bake Sale! We raised money for NeighborImpact, and it was delicious, too! Stay tuned for more details about how much we raised.
